Bosch Oven & Range Door Won't Close

The oven door will not shut flush or pops back open, which lets heat escape during cooking.
What is going on.
An oven door that will not close fully is usually a hinge or gasket problem. The two spring hinges carry the weight of the door, and a bent or broken hinge stops it from seating. A worn gasket, a racked door, or a stuck self-clean latch can also keep the door from shutting flush, which lets heat leak out and throws off cooking.

Bent or broken door hinge
The two spring hinges hold the door square. If one is bent or its spring has failed, the door hangs crooked and will not pull flush against the frame.

Worn or damaged door gasket
The gasket around the door opening seals the cavity. A flattened, torn, or partly detached gasket holds the door open at that point and lets heat escape.

Self-clean latch stuck partway
The self-clean latch can stick in a half-locked position after a cleaning cycle, which blocks the door from closing all the way.

Racked or warped door
A door that has been leaned on, or used as a step, can twist out of square so it no longer meets the frame evenly.

Loose or damaged hinge mounts
The slots the hinges hook into can wear or loosen, so the door sits low or shifts and will not align with the opening.

Remove the racks and check for a pan, a rack, or debris inside the cavity blocking the door.

Inspect the gasket around the door opening for flattened, torn, or detached sections.

Look at both hinges where they enter the frame and see whether one side sits lower than the other.

With the oven cold, lift the door slightly and confirm both hinges are seated evenly in their slots.

Make sure the door was not knocked out of square and that nothing is wedged at the bottom edge.
