Samsung Dishwasher Error Code 4C2
Last updated:
The incoming water is too hot for the dishwasher.
What 4C2 means.
4C2 reports that the water entering the dishwasher is above the temperature the control accepts. Samsung dishwashers expect a hot water supply within a set range, and water that is too hot can damage the tub and racks. The usual cause is a home water heater set very high. A faulty inlet temperature sensor can also trigger it. The cycle pauses until the water comes back into range.
Most common causes.
-
Home water heater set too high
-
Dishwasher connected to a hot supply meant to be cold or mixed
-
Faulty inlet temperature sensor
-
Control board misreading the inlet temperature
Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.
-
Check the home water heater setting and lower it toward 120 degrees if it is set higher.
-
Run the kitchen hot tap for a moment and feel whether the water is unusually hot.
-
Confirm the dishwasher is connected to the intended hot water line.
-
Switch the dishwasher off at the breaker for five minutes, then restore power.
-
If 4C2 returns with the water heater at a normal setting, the inlet sensor needs testing.

Ivan is the only repairman I would ever trust with our appliances! We have used him 3 times (for our dryer, our dishwasher, and most recently our oven). We called him when our oven unexpectedly stopped working and he got us scheduled right away and had it fixed immediately! He is prompt, incredibly knowledgable, very friendly, reasonably priced, and honest! Look no further if you have any appliance repair needs! Thank you again Ivan!! - Kate

Our ice maker in our GE Profile refrigerator stopped working. We contacted several vendors through Yelp and Esquire was quick to respond and were able to come out the next day. Our ice maker was back up and running right away! They were able to buy the proper part and install it all in one day. They were courteous and reasonably priced. I couldn't be more pleased with how it went.
