Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Working

The ice maker stops producing cubes, makes too few, or turns out hollow or undersized ice.
What is going on.
An ice maker needs three things to work: water reaching the mold, a cold enough freezer to freeze it, and a working harvest cycle to drop the cubes into the bin. A fault in any one of those steps stops production. The problem is usually a water supply issue or a worn part in the ice maker itself rather than the freezer being broken.
Most common causes.

Faulty water inlet valve
The inlet valve opens to fill the ice mold. Mineral buildup or an electrical failure stops it from opening, so the mold never fills and no ice forms.

Frozen or kinked water line
The fill tube that carries water to the mold can freeze solid or get pinched. Water cannot reach the mold and the ice maker sits empty.

Clogged water filter
A filter past its service life restricts flow. The mold fills slowly or only partway, which produces small, hollow, or no cubes.

Failed ice maker assembly
The motor, thermostat, or control module inside the ice maker can wear out. When the harvest cycle stops, finished cubes never eject into the bin.

Freezer temperature too warm
Ice makers need a freezer near zero degrees Fahrenheit. A freezer running warm freezes cubes too slowly or not at all.

Confirm the ice maker is switched on, since the on/off arm or toggle is easy to bump.

Check that the freezer is set near zero degrees Fahrenheit.

Replace the water filter if it has been in place longer than six months.

Look for ice jammed in the bin or against the ejector arm and clear it by hand.
