The sound itself is a clue: banging often means an unbalanced load, while a steady grind during spin usually points to a worn drum bearing. Laundry bunched on one side, or a drum packed too full, makes the washer bang against the cabinet during spin. This is the most common cause of a loud washer.

Make sure the shipping bolts were removed if the washer is new or was recently moved, since leaving them in causes loud knocking.

Samsung washers include front-load models with Vibration Reduction Technology and FlexWash units that pair a main front-load tub with a small top compartment. Front-load service calls cluster around the door interlock, the drain pump and its filter, a torn door boot, or worn drum bearings, and Samsung often flags these as panel codes such as a door, drain, or unbalance fault. FlexWash machines effectively carry two washers in one cabinet, so each tub has its own inlet valve and drain path and either side can fail independently, which the diagnosis has to account for.
