Dryer Repair in Orange County: No Heat, Long Cycles, Noise

If your dryer is running but the clothes are still damp after an hour, you’re probably looking at one of two things: a heating issue, or an airflow problem. We see both every day across Orange County on dryer repair calls, and they’re almost always cheaper to fix than the panic-Google search makes them look.

Why your dryer stopped heating

On a gas dryer, lost heat usually traces to the igniter, the flame sensor, or the gas valve coils. On an electric dryer it’s the heating element, the high-limit thermostat, or the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is the most common (a $15 part), and it almost always blows because the vent is clogged. Replacing the fuse without clearing the vent almost always means you’ll be calling again in three weeks.

Takes forever to dry?

That’s an airflow story, not a heat story. Lint trap looks clean, but the duct behind the wall hasn’t been cleared in five years. We pull the duct, inspect for crushed sections (a common new-construction issue in OC condos), and check the booster fan if your run is over 25 feet.
