Washer Repair in Orange County: Drains, Spins, Leaks

The classic OC washer repair call is a Sunday-afternoon panic: the cycle stopped mid-wash, the door is locked, and there’s a tub full of soapy water that won’t drain. The good news: about 80% of the time, it’s a fixable part, not a dead machine.

Common symptoms we see

• Won’t drain: pump impeller jammed by a coin, sock, or underwire
• Won’t spin: broken drive belt (top-load) or worn shock absorbers (front-load)
• Leaks from the bottom: split internal hose, tub bearing seal, or pump housing
• Error codes (LE, dE, OE, F11, etc.): door lock, sensor, or control board
• Vibrates and walks across the floor: suspension rods or transport bolts still in
• Won’t fill: water inlet valve or kinked supply hose

Top-load vs. front-load: different problems

Top-loaders most commonly fail at the lid switch, drive belt, or clutch assembly. Front-loaders skew toward door boots (mold and tears), shock absorbers, and the drain pump. HE top-loaders with a direct-drive motor (Samsung, LG) have their own quirks: usually a Hall sensor or rotor position sensor.

Why your washer won’t drain

Nine times out of ten, the drain pump impeller is jammed. We pop the front access panel, drain the trapped water into a pan, pull the pump filter, and find a hair tie, a bra wire, or a kid’s coin. If the impeller spins free and the pump still hums without moving water, the motor itself is shot. That is a 30-minute swap.
