GE Dishwasher Error Code FILL

The dishwasher has stopped because it did not fill in time.
What FILL means.
FILL appears on GE displays when the tub does not reach its water level within the time the control allows. It is the same family of fault as a slow or no fill. The cause is usually in the water supply or the inlet valve. The cycle halts so the dishwasher does not run dry, and the code clears once water reaches the tub on a normal fill.
Most common causes.

Clogged inlet screen or kinked hose

Weak or failed water inlet valve
Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.

Open the supply valve all the way and confirm strong pressure at the tap.

Pull the dishwasher forward gently and straighten the inlet hose.

Shut the water off and clean the inlet screen.

Run a cycle and listen for a normal fill.

If FILL stays, the inlet valve should be tested.
