Freezer fan motor fault. The fan iced over, the motor failed, or the door was left open.
What 21E means.
21E on Dacor (and Samsung) points to a freezer-fan-motor problem. The fan circulates cold air through the freezer compartment. Without it the freezer fills with cold-but-still air while the fresh-food side warms because no airflow reaches it. The three most common root causes are ice locking the fan blade, the motor burning out, or the freezer door being left open long enough for the fan to ice up. This code is common on Dacor French-door units at the 4 to 6 year mark.
