Ice maker fault. The controller has detected the ice maker is not producing ice.
What CI means.
CI means the controller has detected that the ice maker is not making ice on its expected cycle. This could be because the water valve is not energizing, the mold is not heating to release ice, the optical sensor cannot detect the bin level, or the ice maker module itself has failed. CI is the catch-all "ice maker is sick" code. It does not tell you exactly which part has failed.
Most common causes.

Water inlet valve not energizing.

Mold heater open-circuit (cubes not ejecting).

Optical sensor blocked or failed.

Ice maker module failed.

Water filter clogged or expired.
Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.

Check that the water filter is current (within 6 months of last replacement).

Confirm the freezer is below 0 degrees. Warm freezers cannot make ice.

Pull the ice bin and check the mold for ice that is jammed.

If the mold is empty and dry, the inlet valve or module is the issue.
