Evaporator fan motor fault. The fan is iced over, the motor failed, or the door was left open.
What 21E means.
21E on a frost-free Samsung upright freezer points to an evaporator-fan-motor problem. The fan circulates cold air through the cabinet, and without it the freezer fills with cold-but-still air that warms unevenly. The three most common root causes are ice locking the fan blade, the motor burning out, or the door being left open long enough for the fan to ice up.
