Communication error between main board and display on Kenmore Elite (LG-built) units.
What Er CO (Er Co) means.
Er CO on a Kenmore Elite is the LG-style communication error. The main control board (at the back of the unit) has lost contact with the user interface (front display). They talk over a wire harness that runs through the door hinge, and that harness is the most common failure point because it flexes every time the door opens. The unit may continue to cool on its last known settings but you cannot change temperatures or read other fault codes until Er CO is resolved.
