Defrost cycle did not complete within 1 hour. Defrost heater fault.
What Er dH means.
Er dH means the defrost cycle ran for more than 1 hour without the evaporator coil reaching the target temperature. The defrost heater either failed open-circuit, the safety thermostat opened too early, or the board never actually energized the heater. Without working defrost, frost builds on the evaporator coil over the next few days and the fresh-food side stops cooling. Er dH is one of the most common LG service calls in years 5 to 8.

Wire to heater chafed or broken.

Main board defrost relay failed.
Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.

Unplug for 2 minutes to reset the controller.

Restore power. The unit will try another defrost cycle within 8 to 12 hours.

If Er dH returns, the heater or thermostat needs replacement.

In the meantime, do not stack food against the rear interior wall. Frost will build there.
