The filter or drain path is blocked and water is not clearing the tub.
What E22 means.
E22 points to the filter system and drain path. Bosch dishwashers route wash water through a fine filter at the base of the tub, and when that filter clogs the water cannot circulate or drain properly. The control reads water remaining where it expects an empty tub and sets E22. Food debris, grease, and a filter that has not been cleaned for months are the leading causes. Standing water in the bottom of the tub at the end of a cycle is the usual sign.

Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.

Twist out the cylindrical filter at the bottom of the tub and rinse it under hot water.

Wipe the sump area and remove any food scraps or glass shards by hand.

Reseat the filter firmly so it locks into place.

Run a rinse cycle and check that the tub drains fully.

If standing water and E22 return, the drain pump should be inspected.
