The dishwasher cannot drain because the drain path is blocked or the pump is failing.
What E24 means.
E24 is a drainage fault. The dishwasher has tried to pump the tub empty and the control still senses water, so it posts E24. The drain pump pushes water out through the drain hose, often up through an air gap or into a disposer, and any block along that route stops the flow. A clogged drain hose, a plugged air gap, a disposer with an unbroken knockout plug, or a jammed pump impeller are all common. The cycle stops with water sitting in the tub.

Try this first: safe DIY troubleshooting.

Remove the tub filter and scoop out the standing water and any visible debris.

Check the drain hose under the sink for kinks and clear the air gap if one is fitted.

If the drain ties into a disposer, confirm the disposer knockout plug was removed.

Run the disposer briefly to clear its drain side, then start a rinse cycle.

If E24 returns with the hose clear, the drain pump needs testing.
