Dryer Error Codes
When your dryer throws a code, it has narrowed the problem down to a specific part or system. Find your brand below, then open the code for what it means, the most common causes, and the repair cost in the Orange County market. The diagnostic is $65, waived when you authorize the repair.

LG
LG dryers show a two-character fault code in the time display when a cycle stops short, and most codes also light a matching icon on newer panels. The code stays on screen until the door is opened or power is cycled.
Samsung
Samsung dryers display a short alphanumeric code in the cycle window when they stop on a fault, and recent models pair it with an icon. Newer panels may show the longer two-part codes such as tS or hE.
Whirlpool
Whirlpool dryers show F-series fault codes on digital models, often paired with an E sub-code, plus the standalone PF and AF alerts. Mechanical-timer dryers have no display and give no codes.
Maytag
Maytag dryers are built on the Whirlpool platform, so digital models share the same F-series fault codes plus the PF and AF alerts. Older dial-timer Maytag dryers have no display and report no codes.
GE
GE dryers on digital platforms show an E-prefixed fault code in the display, while many GE dryers use status lights or simply stop without a code. Newer GE and Profile models report the longer E-series faults.
Frigidaire
Frigidaire dryers on electronic platforms show an E-series fault code in the display when a cycle stops, and the code can usually be cleared by cycling power. Dial-timer Frigidaire dryers have no display and give no codes.
Kenmore
Kenmore is a Sears badge brand, and Kenmore dryers are built by Whirlpool, LG, or Samsung depending on the model. The first three digits of the model number identify the maker, 110 for Whirlpool and 796 for LG, so match the code to that platform.
Bosch
Bosch dryers, mostly compact condenser and heat-pump models, show an E-prefixed fault code on the display and may also flash a service indicator. Many faults clear by emptying the condensation tank or cleaning the condenser filter.
Speed Queen
Speed Queen dryers on electronic-control models show short fault codes on the display, and the control can list stored codes through a diagnostic mode. Older mechanical-control Speed Queen dryers have no display and report no codes.
